was created for the high-end television drama, 'TRUST' produced by FX Network. The series is set in 1973 and recounts the abduction of John Paul Getty III, then-heir to Getty Oil, while he was in Italy. It aired on BBC 2 in Autumn 2018.
Project Breakdown
We were asked to recreate a full size replica of one of the panels of the Parthenon Metopes (also known as the Elgin Marbles) 'Lapith vs Centaur'
Using detailed drawings and references from the original sculpture, we roughly modelled the panel in Freeform Plus then machined it on our KUKA robotic arm.
Our sculptor Stan Mitchell then built up a clay layer and added fine detail over the roughed panel.
The sculpted panel was moulded in silicone and a GRP panel was produced which was painted and aged to match the original panel.
