Based on the New York Times best-selling book by Ben Macintyre, A Spy Among Friends follows the defection of notorious British intelligence officer and KGB double agent, Kim Philby, through the lens of his complex relationship with MI6.
Project Details
We were asked to make an 1800mm diameter bas relief portrait panel, depicting the Bolshevik revolutionary, Felix Dzerzhinsky, in a Soviet era style.
A small version of the circular panel was sculpted in clay and then scanned to Freeform.
The panel was cut to size in model-board on our 3-axis CNS router.
After an initial sanding...
The panel was hand-finished by technicians.
The panel ready for sealing and painting.
Painted with a bronze paint finish to create a stunning scenic prop.
A Spy Among Friends, starring Guy Pearce as Philby, was produced in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television, ITV Studios and Veritas Entertainment Group. It was released on 1st November 2022 and is available on ITVX in the UK and Spectrum Originals in the US.
