We hosted Sheffield hardcore metal band, Malevolence, on the Artem backlot earlier this year, filming the effects for their latest music video, ‘The Other Side’. The track was originally released on an EP of the same name and showcases Malevolence’s experimentation with a more melodic sound.
Artem's technicians provided flame, wind, rain and atmospheric effects for the high-energy shoot, creating an atmosphere described by industry magazine, Rock Sound, as, ‘From pouring rain to raging fire… as dramatic and emotional as the track itself.’Vocalist Alex Taylor acknowledges that the track ‘is a big step outside our comfort zone both musically and visually.’‘The Other Side’ EP was released on the band’s own label, MLVTD Music in April 2020. See the title track video here.
The Artem backlot in West London can be used for shooting, testing and large prop assembly, and offers clients a safe and convenient environment for their projects. There is also a 7m high canopy space, 12m x 18m, that can be enclosed for filming.
It was a real pleasure working with Ritchie and the team at Artem. From start to finish, they were fully invested in our ideas for the shoot and were willing to go the extra mile in bringing our vision to life. From the planning stage right up to the day of the shoot, they were there to offer their expert advice, support and creative ideas in achieving what we feel is a truly unique look to the performance shots of our video.
I would fully recommend Artem and look forward to working with them again on other projects!
