Artem Case Studies

The Chemistry of Death CPL New 4 Ltd

Based on Simon Beckett’s best-selling novels, crime drama The Chemistry of Death follows forensic anthropologist, David Hunter, reluctantly assisting the police with a series of murders in Norfolk and on a remote Scottish Island.

Artem provided standby effects to the production – having bases in both West London and Glasgow proved a significant advantage in dealing with locations so far apart. Floor effects included extreme storm conditions throughout the Scottish section of the shoot and lots of woodland atmospherics. Set piece effects included burning cars and an interior explosion causing a cottage roof and door collapse. We also provided a stabbing blood rig and prop knife.

The Chemistry of Death was released in January 2023 and is available to stream directly on Paramout+ or via AppleTV.
