Undertaking Betty Directed by Nick Hurran
'There we are in a stately home, worth more money than the budget of the film, when the Director Nick Hurran asks if we can send a fireball down a period staircase.
I said no way, but Artem said easy. And we did... and it was!
Pros make life easier.'
- David Ball, Co-Producer
Artem was approached byCF1 Cyf to design a variety of rigs and special effects to help Director Nick Hurran bring the plot to life in Undertaking Betty - an outrageous comedy set in a small Welsh town about a funeral director whose life is turned on its head.
The unusual tale required a variety of effects including pyrotechnics, spark effects, dry ice and rigs to raise a coffin at a glitzy funeral and to make a bed lurch around as though being moved supernaturally by a ghost.
The main effects scene features Robert Pugh and his mistress being scared out of their wits by the ghostly appearance of his supposedly dead wife!
