Artem Case Studies

Eefer 4creative

Artem was commissioned by Jason Delahunty, Senior Producer at 4Creative to work on a new E4 ident to tie-in with the channel’s new look, using a very familiar face – Eefer, the robotic E4 sign that helped launch the channel.

Artem technicians converted files supplied by Moving Picture Company into a 3D model of Eefer so that the dimensions of the model would match exactly the 3D CG images used in the films. This virtual model was then converted to part files which were CNC routed to form a flat pack body and individual drawings for joint components. Sub-components were assembled and then painted in our walk-in spray shop.

Eefer is part of a distinctive new look for E4, which launched on 31 October. It is the channel’s first re-branding since 2007. Eefer, together with his crash-helmet wearing dog, will feature in the new idents, in five scenes that depict aspects of British life including a greasy spoon café, a caravan park and a student bedsit.
