'I just want to tell you what a great job you did. The dragon looks great and none of us can believe how fast you did it and the great price you gave us...I know I really want to use you again.'

Rebekah Rudd, Executive Producer, Spyglass Entertainment

Reign of Fire is a 2002 post-apocalyptic action film directed by Rob Bowman and starring Christian Bale, Matthew McConaughey and Gerard Butler. It takes place in the year 2020 in England, after dragons have reawakened. Director Rob Bowman needed to give form to the film's computer generated dragon to enable an actor to interact directly with it - ride under it's wing, dismount and slash into the dragon's womb to extract a slime and blood-covered egg - which Artem's team of special effects artists were more than happy to provide on this film.

Artem had to build the head, body and one wing. This was no mean feat, as the wing alone was 120ft long and needed to withstand the Irish winds whilst being transparent enough to show the vein structure when backlit! The dragon was built in West London and then transported to a quarry near Dublin for filming.
