Animatronic Baby CMG IT

The commercial script involved an baby singling himself out as a future CMG employee by playing video ping-pong on his ECG monitor.

This was, obviously, not possible with a real baby, but the animatronic had to be as realistic as possible to maintain the illusion. It was a highly detailed creation and the sculpt was based on visual reference of the director's own baby son.

A special type of silicone was used that gives the same translucent characteristics as real human skin.

The mechanical skeleton that would breathe life into the baby was produced simultaneously - the face alone featured over sixteen separate movements which (amongst other things) enabled the lips to pucker.

Artem delivered a perfect baby that did exactly what it was told, never required changing and so far hasn't demanded any repeat fees!
