Get ready for a whirlwind tour through time! Here at Artem, we were delighted to receive another invitation from Kim Gavin to contribute to Take That's phenomenal live shows for their latest album, "This Life." The UK tour has been a visual spectacle, captivating audiences with a dynamic set that delivers two distinct aesthetics: a nostalgic trip down memory lane and a glimpse into a high-tech future.
Stepping into a Retro TV Studio
The first half of the show throws it back to the 1960s, transforming the stage into a classic television studio. To truly immerse the audience in this bygone era, Artem crafted custom-built housings for modern SONY cameras. These clever disguises transformed them into vintage turret lens studio cameras, complete with a sleek, 60s-inspired design. These disguised cameras capture the group’s performance, projecting them onto the massive screens above the stage, completing the illusion of a live 1960’s broadcast.
A Quantum Leap into the Future
As the concert progresses, the stage undergoes a dramatic shift, transporting the audience to a world brimming with cutting-edge technology. Here, the focus is on the future, with lighting and set design creating a feeling of a futuristic dreamscape. To complement this theme, we designed and built a pair of futuristic VR goggles for the band members to wear during their performance of the iconic song "Greatest Day."
Working with Take That is always a privilege, and this project was no exception. Our team is incredibly proud of the final product and how it integrates with the overall vision for the "This Life" tour. It's been an honour to be a part of creating an unforgettable live experience for Take That fans across the UK.
