A New Home in the North-West 

Artem sets up new home in Greater Manchester 

We’re very excited to announce that we’ve purchased a third Artem site, and we are currently carrying out works on the property, prior to officially opening for business.

The new facility is located in Greater Manchester mid-way between Artem’s existing London and Glasgow workshops, so we can support film and television productions across the North West and Yorkshire quickly and more flexibly, while reducing the need to move equipment and technicians around the country. It will serve the booming creative hub in the North West and Yorkshire - an area which is attracting an increasing number of high-profile, US-financed productions to its versatile city locations and stunning rural landscapes.

The 5,000 sq ft facility will house workshops, technicians, an exterior testing space and a hire and sales facility. We’re not just bringing the rain, we’re offering a full range of floor effects for productions, backed up by workshop facilities and a backlot. Artem Manchester is based at the Westwood Business Centre, Oldham, close to major road links into and around Manchester. It’s a 25-minute drive to Space Studios and c40 minutes to Versa (formerly Granada Studios) and Media City. The Westwood Metrolink Station is a 5-minute walk away from our workshop and trams reach the city centre in 25 minutes.

The location has great infrastructure links to Liverpool and is conveniently placed to service studios and locations in south and west Yorkshire.

We may not have finished unpacking and putting up shelves yet, but Artem has already started working on projects locally, recently providing prosthetic props, gas rigs and atmospherics for upcoming C4 drama series, Entitled.
