British jeanswear brand Firetrap commissioned Artem Special Effects to realise their vision of creating window installations from vintage stereo equipment to encompass a ‘Wall of Sound’. The inspiration for the windows came from the Black Panther movement combined with the late 70’s and early 80’s underground music scene which was the theme for the collection that can now be seen in store.

Artem created the windows by building 3 walls each measuring 2m x 2m and a number of smaller cluster units which were built from an assortment of vintage 1970’s & 1980’s ghetto blasters, turntables and reel-to-reels. The items were stripped of their electrical components before being primed & spray-painted in white gloss to convey a modern twist. The walls were then finally bolted together with a hidden framework to hold and support the structure.
