Artem Case Studies

The BFG Footprints Afterworks Ltd

Based on the children’s novel by Roald Dahl and directed by Steven Spielberg, The BFG ‘Big Friendly Giant’ - tells the story of an orphan called Sophie who befriends the 24 ft giant and helps him to get rid of all the bad giants including the gruesomely named Bloodbottler and Fleshlumpeater.

In the middle of summer last year Artem had the task of creating the giant sized footprints in the sand.

The sandcastle print had to be formed quickly on the beach, due to the tide frequency. This was created using a silicone sleeve and a GRP mould, we then used a vibrating wacker plate to compress the mould into the sand leaving the realistic giant sized footprints.

The BFG is in cinemas now.
