Outpost 2: Black Sun Black Camel Pictures

Following our work on horror movie Outpost, directed by Steve Barker, we provided all floor effects, props, pyrotechnics and mechanical rigs for its sequel, Outpost 2: Black Sun.

In the present day, Helena, a gutsy investigator, is on the trail of the notorious German scientist and war-criminal Klausener, who, at the end of WW2, was working on a new technology with the power to create an immortal Nazi army. Helena realises that they are in fact facing a battalion of Nazi Storm-Troopers, a veritable zombie army on the march. With the help of Wallace, a man who's been chasing Nazi secrets for years, the two of them team up with a Special Forces Unit to venture deep behind enemy lines.

The story continues with as low a budget as the first film, and so, as with Outpost I, innovation and new ideas were the order of the day.  The location work was shot on an MOD training area which had deserted buildings, long abandoned since the original residents had been evicted, and this lent itself to an eastern European feel.

Various pyrotechnics and bullet hits were required as the Nazi Zombies attack the town, and smoke added to the general ambience of out-of-shot burning buildings.  The final scenes see a character from the initial film hanging in mid-air, (safely in an Artem flying harness!), connected to an infernal machine by various tubes, as a concerted attempt is made to take over the underground bunker.  Explosions and flying sparks mix with multiple bullet hits as the film reaches its climax.
