Hawk 11:22 Entertainment

Artem produced all floor effects, prosthetics, animatronics, fire and action props for Hawk, a fantasy directed by M. J. McMahon.

Hawk depicts the story of Rowan, whose adventures lead him to discover another world beneath our own. In that shadowy land of old gods and wild hunts, the divide between man and beast becomes uncertain and the fairytales of his childhood spring to life. With only the guidance of a hunting hawk, Rowan must make amends for his crime against nature, and choose between what is real, and what is fantasy.

Artem provided all floor effects, prosthetics, animatronics, fire and action props for the film.

The script was demanding, and although the film was in theory a 'short', it ran to 40 minutes!  Shot over 2 weeks in North Wales, mainly up steep hills, we provided prosthetics - as the lead actor is skewered in an animal trap - and blood effects.  We also made an animatronic deer which is caught in the same trap!

Mist was required to drift mysteriously through the forest to add to the mystical atmosphere, and torrential rain to give it that final cold, miserable feel.  Only the addition of some small, gas powered camp fires kept us warm!

You can see a featurette on the film here.
